Unlike technical motorsports chronographs, Massimo Dutti timepieces communicate quiet luxury: unadorned dials, slender hands, and hand-stitched leather straps. Our creative direction aimed to encapsulate this refined restraint through warm, organic directional lighting and tactile close-ups.
Balancing Organic Leather with Polished Stainless Steel
The primary creative challenge lay in harmonizing two vastly different materials: the porous, light-absorbing grain of premium Italian leather, and the reflective, specular surface of the watch case.
Raking Cross-Light
Positioning low-angle raking kickers across the strap to highlight the organic pores, edge burnishing, and contrast stitching of the calfskin.
Soft Overhead Grids
Utilizing double-baffled overhead softboxes to maintain absolute clarity on the minimalist dial indexes while eliminating blinding glare on the flat mineral glass.
